This notice explains how personal data is collected, used, stored and protected when you visit EXITS.co.uk or make an enquiry through it. It is written to meet the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

The data controller is Exit Partners Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 11721705, whose registered office is The Studio, Brentmoor Road, Woking, Surrey, GU24 9NE. EXITS.co.uk is a trading style of that company. For any data protection question, write to info@exits.co.uk or to the registered office, marking your letter for the attention of the director.
What we collect
We collect the information you choose to give us through the enquiry forms on this site: your name, your company name, your email address, your telephone number and whatever you tell us about the business and your objectives. We also receive standard technical information generated by your visit, such as your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you viewed and the site or search that referred you.
Why we are allowed to use it
Where you submit an enquiry, we rely on your consent and, once we are working together, on the necessity of processing to perform or prepare a contract with you. We rely on legitimate interests to keep the site secure, to understand which pages are useful and to respond to correspondence. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time and we will stop unless we have compelling grounds not to.
How we use it
Enquiry information is used to respond to you, to assess whether we can help, and to run a sale, valuation or exit planning process if you instruct us. Technical information is used in aggregate to maintain and improve the site. We do not make automated decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Confidentiality and who sees your data
We treat the fact of your enquiry as confidential in itself. Nothing that identifies your business is disclosed to a potential acquirer, an adviser or any other third party without your specific written instruction. We use a small number of service providers to host the website, deliver email and measure site usage; they process data only on our documented instructions and under written terms that meet UK GDPR. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with unrelated third parties for their own marketing.
International transfers
Some service providers process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or by the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, together with appropriate technical safeguards.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept for up to 24 months so that we can pick up a conversation you may return to, and are then deleted. Records relating to an engagement are kept for six years after the end of that engagement to meet contractual, tax and limitation requirements. Technical logs are kept for a short operational period only.
Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies are used to make the site work, to keep a session secure and to protect enquiry forms from abuse. These do not require consent because the site cannot function safely without them. Any analytics or measurement cookie that is not strictly necessary is set only where you have given consent through the cookie banner, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by clearing site data in your browser or by contacting us. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and no cookie on this site is used to identify you personally outside your own visit.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to ask for erasure or for processing to be restricted, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, to receive data you gave us in a portable form, and to withdraw consent at any time. Ask by emailing info@exits.co.uk. We will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Security
Personal data is held on access-controlled systems, transmitted over encrypted connections and available only to people who need it to do their work. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so we also keep the amount of personal data we collect to what an enquiry genuinely requires.
