What this page covers

Why an owner community

Selling a business is usually a one-off event for the owner and a routine one for the acquirer. That asymmetry is the single biggest disadvantage most sellers carry into a negotiation. The EXITS.co.uk community exists to reduce it, by giving owners access to people who have already been through a sale process and to advisers who run them regularly.

Who it is for

It is intended for owners and shareholders of established UK businesses who are actively preparing for an exit, or who expect to be within the next few years. It is not a directory, a lead-generation list or a place where businesses are advertised for sale. Confidential opportunities are handled separately and privately through our confidential sale and off-market processes.

How it works

Participation is by request. Discussion is confidential and no member's business is identified without their explicit consent. We contribute practical material on valuation, preparation, diligence and deal structure, and we answer questions directly rather than in generalities. Where a question requires legal, tax or regulated financial advice, we say so and point to the right professional rather than answering it ourselves.

What we will not do

We do not sell member data, we do not use the community as a source of unsolicited approaches, and we do not allow acquirers to use it as a sourcing channel. Owners share candid information about their businesses in this setting, and that only works if the boundary is absolute.

Request an introduction

Speak to Tony Vaughan and the EXITS.co.uk team on 0330 133 2021 or email info@exits.co.uk for a confidential, no-obligation conversation. EXITS.co.uk is operated by Exit Partners Limited.

Members are pointed towards our cornerstone guides on valuation, exit planning and the confidential sale process, and to the glossary of business-sale terminology. Those resources are public and free; the community adds the discussion around them.

How to join

Request an introduction by telephone or email. We will ask a small number of questions about your business and your timescale, purely to confirm the community is relevant to you.
